I want to welcome you to my artwork. I love to work with acrylic paint, watercolor, fibers and fabrics and at times mix it all together. I have recently started painting in oils again after many years away from them. My whole life I have been creating: drawing, painting, sewing. There is so much more in my brain waiting to come out than I have the time to make. Creating is a beautiful thing.
Hi, I'm Gayla and I live by a gorgeous lake in the mountains of north eastern Washington State, USA. This is a very quiet, low key place to be. Paradise! Beautiful long, cold winters and kind of short, fabulous summers.
In my art endeavors I am primarily self taught. I have a degree in Applied Art and Science with the focus being Mechanical Hand Drafting and Technical Illustration. I really enjoy abstract painting and with the very, very precise training and working in the technical illustration field I add detailed subjects to my paintings. I am happy with how my work has evolved to the current place of often being a mix of both, realism on abstract backgrounds.
